On 4 May 2015, iCandy Interactive and Fatfish Internet Pte Ltd (“Fatfish Internet”) jointly acquired Appxplore. In December 2015, Appxplore gained recognition as a Top Developer on Google Play store, while adding 600,000 new gamers onto iCandy’s network.
In April 2017, iCandy Interactive completed the acquisition of Singapore-headquartered Inzen Studio Pte. Ltd. (“Inzen”), a mobile game company and eco-system developer.
Founded by industry veterans in May 2011, Appxplore has generated more than 17m downloads, a successive series of mobile games published across 17 countries in Asia Pacific. Appxplore currently owns and operates high-quality mobile games, including the award winning Lightopus (awarded Most Innovative Mobile Game by Casual Connect Asia 2012 and Best Mobile Application, Content & Service by GoMobile innovation Malaysia Awards 2012) and Alien Hive (Best Art or Character by Casual Connect Asia 2013). Awarded a ‘Top Developer’ badge on the Google Play store, Appxplore is recognised as one of the ‘established, respected developers for their commitment to launching high-quality and innovative apps on Android’.
Founded in 2012 by games industry veterans and former core team members of the Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab, Inzen rose to prominence by securing funds from key ecosystem players such as Incubate Fund (Tokyo) and Baidu Games (Beijing) to build games across cultures.
Inzen’s most successful game to date is Dark Dot, which received the Editors’ Choice Award from Google Play in Oct 2016. In Nov 2016, Dark Dot also bagged the “Excellence in Innovation” Award at the inaugural International Mobile Game Awards for Southeast Asia.
